sumbuk No, your speakers have not cracked,
nor did your headphones die.
It's just Andre messing with his guitar.
I like this
not gonna lie. ;-)

Carsten Pieper Is there a label/genre like abstro-funk or do we have to invent it for this brilliant album? If music is abstract and accessible at the same time, it's really something special!
Btw, if you're as much attracted to this approach as me, you might want to lend the collaborations of Stephan Thelen and Markus Reuter (Fractal Guitar, Clocks Go Down in Wonderland) an ear.
But first make sure, to listen thorougly to this marvel of an album :-) Favorite track: Contamination Fist.

Rejyna It played through once and the true test is, did I immediately replay it?

Yes, actually three times already. Golden.

about

The Exotic Melodic Avant Arena Rock album.

Simultaneously some of the most accessible AND most unusual music I've made, I began writing this material in 2012. It was initially fueled by a fascination with unusual musical scales and melodic contours, and by the fabulous, abstract-yet-funky sounds and patterns coming from the Aalto synthesizer by Madrona Labs.

I proceeded to come back to this material in fits and starts over the following eight years: working intensely on it for a period, then leaving it untouched for months or even years at a time. The material haunted me, and felt like some of the strongest, most cohesive work I'd done. But, for whatever reasons, seeing it through to completion was a challenge I wasn't up to.

When the March 2020 lockdown happened, I found myself driven into studio hermit mode. I revisited this material again, and resolved to finally see it through to completion. Although the material dates back several years, 99% of the guitars, and a fair amount of the synth sounds, were recorded in 2020.

It's a cliche for recording artists to think that their latest work is also their best. With that said: as of release day (November 17, 2020), I really feels like this is one of the best things I've done. I don't want to keep making albums like this, but I'm really glad I made this one.

As always: thank you for listening.
